Siddha Thirumoolar was initially a person named Sundhara Nathar from Shaivism who worship Great Paramashivan as the Supreme being. Siddha Thirumoolar has been known to lived for over 5000 years. He is a Great Siddha who has gifted the other beings the way of life and way of reaching to Divinity by producing the Thirumanthiram.
He was the only human being that had direct initiation from Lord Paramashivan himself. He had great supernatural abilities like shifting into other bodies, curing illness, invincibility, flying and many more. Even our modern researchers are still doing many research and trying to decode his way of life.
Both the life and works of Siddha Thirumoolar are extremely vital for the Tamil Shaivism and Siddha tradition. Siddha Thirumoolar’s Thirumantiram unfolds the most profound and subtle realisations of a phenomenal Siddha. It is revered as Siddhantha-“the end of ends”.
Great Siddha Thirumoolar had gone on deep meditation for almost 3000 years and he would come out to write a single verse on a palm leaf. Thirumanthiram is the summarised version of everything an individual need to know. This proves his existence for more than 3000 years as Thirumantiram has 3000 verses.
Other than that, Siddha Thirumoolar is direct disciple of Maha Yogi Sri Agasthiyar. Maha Yogi Sri Agasthiyar is ageless legendary Siddha stands out as the senior most guru who initiated a galaxy of eminent gurus and siddha down the ages, and who had established and nurtured the Ancient South Indian civilisation lasting several millennia.
Maha Yoga Sri Agasthiyar’s history of humanity is still mysterious and not considered a human. This is why Siddha Thirumoolar is considered The First Tamil Siddha in this universe as he attained his supreme consciousness direct Maha Yogi Sri Agasthiyar and is also considered one of 18 yoga siddhas.
Siddha Thirumoolar also got blessed with knowledge from Guru Nandeeswarar in the Sanskrit language and acquired complete enlightenment in Vedhantham with 8 holy powers otherwise known as Ashtamasiddhi. These Siddhi’s are Anigma, Magima, Karima, Lagima, Prapthi, Parakamyam, Vasithuvam and Ishathvam. After this full attainment of knowledge from Mount Kailash, he started his journey of spreading his knowledge to the rest of the world as Dharma, as a revelation from Lord Paramashivan himself.
